Halloween cookies

Happy Halloween!


Halloween is not in my tradition. In Italy we don't celebrate Halloween but I looked up to understand better the origin of it, and it was very interesting.

So I prepared this cookies to celebrate Halloween in my Italian kitchen!

Here are the ingredients and the steps. You can find the video recipe in my Instagram page (my profile - highlights) or in my YouTube channel.


  • 300gr/2 cup and 1 tbsp all purpose flour

  • 100gr / 1/2 cup powdered sugar

  • 100 gr / 1/4 cup + 3 tbsp Butter

  • 2 eggs

  • 1 grated lemon zest

  • 3 tsp cinnamon powdered

  • some drop of vanilla

  • 2 gr / 3/4 tsp baking powder

  • orange and cinnamon marmalade


  • place in a bowl the flour, the sugar and the baking powder

  • mix it few second

  • add the cinnamon powder and mix

  • add the butter, vanilla drops and the grated lemon zest and mix for 1 minute

  • add the eggs and continue mixing

  • with your end prepare a ball with your dough

  • place the dough in the refrigerator for 2 hours, wrapped in a plastic food wrap

  • roll out your dough using some extra flour if you need

  • cut in the shapes that you prefer, I used pumpkin shape

  • spread marmalade and cover with another cookie

  • place in a baking pan and bake for 15 minutes at 350 F
