Lemon Tart

Lemon Tart is one of my husband favorite cake.

It is perfect with a cup of tea or for your Italian breakfast!

Try it!

Here are the ingredients and the steps. You can find the video recipe in my Instagram page (my profile - highlights) or in my YouTube channel.



  • 95gr/ 1/2 cup Cold Butter

  • 75gr/ 1/3 cup Powdered Sugar

  • 190gr/ 1+1/2 cups flour

  • 2 Yolks

  • 1 Lemon zest grated

  • a pinch of Slat

Lemon curd

  • 500ml/2cups Milk

  • 6 Yolks

  • 35gr/ 1/3 cup Flour

  • 35 gr/ 1/3 cup Potato Starch

  • 150 gr/ 3/4 cup Sugar

  • 2 Lemon Zest

  • Pine Nuts

Steps for the tart

  • place in a bowl the Flour, a pinch of Salt and the Butter. Mix for 1 minutes

  • add grated Lemon Zest, Sugar and the Yolks and mix for another 1 minutes

  • place the dough in the refrigerator for 2 hours wrapped in the plastic food wrap

Steps for the Lemon Curd

  • place in a pan the Milk and the Lemon Zest in pieces. Warm it for few minutes

  • in a bowl place the Sugar, the Yolks and mix for 1 minutes

  • add the Flour and the Potato Starch and mix for another 1 minutes

  • add the warm Milk, slowly, mixing

  • place in a pan and cook very slowly the mixture for few minutes until it become dense and smoot

  • cold down the lemon curd

Last steps

  • roll out the dough and place it in a tart pan

  • add the Lemon Curd and spread on top, the Pine Nuts and bake it at 350F for 30 minutes
