you know I love sea food and this is the first time I buy Mussels here in Usa!
And they are so good!
Gratin Mussels is one of my favorite Finger foods, easy to prepare, so tasty and also beautiful to see. the perfect Appetizer!
It is typical in South Italy and mainly in Puglia and Sicily.
You can serve it with a good glass of white wine.
Here are the ingredients and the steps. You can find the video recipe in my Instagram page (my profile - highlights) or in my YouTube channel.
Mussels (fresh or frozen)
Grated Pecorino or Parmesan Cheese
Extra Virgin Olive Oil
place the Mussels in a pan and start cooking for few minutes until they are opened
in a bowl place Bread Crumbs, Grated Pecorino or Parmesan Cheese, Black Pepper, Herbs, White Wine, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, a Spoon of Tomato sauce, and mix all together to obtain a wet mixture
open the Mussels and Place in a baking pan, adding on top the mixture
spread on top Extra Virgin olive Oil and bake for 15 minutes 380F
